While 2008 is a year that I will be happy to forget (if you are wondering why, let’s just say that the economy and my ex-girlfriend both gave me reasons to be very bitter about the last year), I don’t want to feel the same way about this entire year. While most people set resolutions at the start of a New Year, this isn’t something I had really done before. But, times change, so I sat down and decided to come up with an idea. The idea I selected was to start travelling more this year. To ensure I followed through on this, I started making plans right away.
Not only did I setup a trip to London at the beginning of the year, but I actually took it just a few weeks ago. The cool thing about my trip is that I reserved everything from my flight to my London car rental on-line. Because it was so easy to get my London car rental and I didn’t encounter any problems, I had an extremely relaxing trip. As a result of this, I felt really positive about the decision that I had made to commit to travelling more throughout the year.
Even though I didn’t get to stay in London forever (although I don’t think I would have ran out of things to do if my boss wouldn’t have cared about me not coming back), I am more committed than ever to sticking to my original goal. The Internet is a great tool. Although it can cause you to waste a lot of time (if you have ever logged on to YouTube with the intention of watching one video, and then you look at the clock and an hour and a half has passed while you have been watching random videos, you know just how easy it is to get sucked up and waste enormous amounts of time), it can also allow you to save a lot of time when used properly.
