I am a huge show fan. I love musicals so you can imagine my excitement when my friend and I booked a four day holiday to London and the tickets to see four shows one each night.

We decided to get a rental car as my friend has a weird phobia of the tube. We thought this might be a pricey option but in fact it was reasonable and it didn’t eat into our holiday money at all. This was a huge relief and made my friend feel happy that she did not have to worry about either getting on the tube or making me pay out more money than I could really afford.

The booking system was straightforward and we got a lovely Ford modus. It was easy to drive and we took turns driving and sightseeing.

We saw four shows and I have to say they were amazing. The first one we saw was ‘We Will Rock You’. I didn’t really know what to expect cause although I knew all the songs I didn’t know the story. It was a lively and fun show.

Next was the classic ‘Grease’ and we weren’t disappointed. It was everything we thought it would be, Fantastic. The next performance was ‘Hairspray’ which I have seen loads on DVD it was so good. We sang away to the brilliant songs.

‘Wicked was what we watched on night four and I have to say was my favourite. The special effects and the singing performances were amazing.

We can’t wait till next year and we are already planning what to see next.

You definitely don’t need to look too far to uncover the rich history of the United Kingdom no matter where you are exactly, and of course London is no different. There is too much to see in just a few days so if you are really in to history, and beautiful old buildings, then make sure to give yourself enough time to see as much as possible. And to make it all easier and more comfortable you should consider getting a London car rental so you can go straight to your destination without worrying about which bus or train to catch.

One of the world heritage sites around London is Maritime Greenwich which is in an outlying district of London; it represents English artistic and scientific achievements of the 17th and 18th centuries. While you’re there you can see the first Palladian building in England: The Queen’s House by Inigo Jones. Other attractions include what used to be the Royal Naval College, designed by Christoper Wren, and the park which includes the Old Royal Observatory.

Another site that is not to be missed is the Tower of London, a military fort built on the Thames by William the Conqueror as protection for this great city. I am a big fan of military history myself but even if you’re not you should still take a trip to see this place.

These are just the start of all the historical buildings you can visit around London, and you will definitely give your London car rental a workout if you choose that option.
