If you want to experience real London shopping all under one roof then you must visit Harvey Nichols. It is based in Knightsbridge and so you may need to consider using a hire car to get there. The store itself now has several branches in major cities in the UK and abroad but the London store was the first and opened in the 1880′s. It is based in an impressive building boasting eight floors and so you could spend a whole day shopping just in this one place.

There is of course lots of clothing to be seen in there, with many great designers displaying their wares in the shop. The clothing range is very large and there are plenty of high quality and very fashionable items to choose from for both men, women and children. There is also a beauty section where you can find all the make up and perfume you would ever need. There are home wares too. There is even a restaurant and a food hall so you can buy quality items and even stop for a coffee or a bite to eat while you shop. There is a restaurant with seasonal dishes, a bar which is a contemporary interpretation of an art nouveau salon and a cafe with an open kitchen, roof terrace and modern European cuisine, so you should be able to find something to suit you and your party. It could be worth a visit just to try out one of the eating or drinking places.

London Weather

If you have seen any news about UK weather then you may start to worry about the weather and wonder whether you should really visit the place. The thing to remember is that the news only reports the weather extremes, the snow, ice, floods and heat and these things are not normal occurrences in London. The weather in the city tends to often be quite wet but in the summer there are lovely sunny days when the heat is not extreme but just pleasant and it can be just dull and cloudy a lot of the time. The winter can bring snow and ice but the city does tend to be warmer than the outskirts so it is only if you have a hire car and want to explore further than just London that you may want to be a bit more cautious.

Another thing to note is that the weather forecasts are not normally particularly accurate so it is worth being prepared for anything. Even if sunshine is predicted it is always worth carrying an umbrella and if rain is forecast then have your sun block just in case! It is also worth planning indoor and outdoor activities and then picking which one you do depending on the weather. There is plenty to do in either case and it can be annoying if your plans are messed up by the weather so if you are open minded and plan for all occurrences then you will not be disappointed and should have a great time regardless.
